Okay I have been knitting…. (not really)… I have been spending time working on knitting related tasks but don’t have much to show for it. I find it frustrating. My time when not spent with work, or my family has been spent: blocking, counting, picking up stitches, re-counting, contacting people on how to modify a pattern, thinking about how to modify a pattern, and preparing to do the math for modifying a pattern.
I know knitting detours happen to everyone but these were happening simultaneously so I was a little bit annoyed. I have been trying not to cast on new items and work through my WIPS or the projects I have planned on Ravelry, so I was pretty determined to not cast on something new. After blocking, counting and picking up stitches on one of the projects I am close to being done with it and should be getting ready to cast off tonight (which I find gratifying, because there is nothing I like more than saying a project is done). That is the good news, the bad news is now I have to figure out how to modify the pattern for my Hazelwood Sweater. I was very motivated after my class with Joji and used my Customfit measurements to take a good look at how the pattern for my size would fit my measurements. The result is that I learned that a raglan style is not the best for my proportions (realizing this did make me think and I removed a lot of raglan sweaters I had in my Ravelry queue). However I am still not did not sway me on my decision to make the Hazelwood Sweater( after a few attempts I will let you know if I have changed my mind).
Oh and in other news…. I finally finished my Ashby.
